Youth Volunteering

URPotential are funded for 3 years 2018 – 2021 to deliver youth volunteering across Blackpool Fylde and Wyre. 2 full time youth and community workers will work alongside young people aged 11 to 18 to run volunteer academies and train as volunteer ambassadors and peer-mentors, accessing  out-of-school hours community based volunteering opportunities. The project will work alongside our Esmee Fairburn participation and social action project, underpinned by UNRights of the Child article 12 and #Iwill principles

URPotential will specifically work alongside:

*Year 6 children, linking with the Blackpool Children’s University programme and provide additional hours for children to record their achievements.

* Young People with specific needs, proving one-to-one support and volunteering opportunities for YP aged 10 to 25 with physical and/ or learning disabilities/ difficulties including poor emotional health and well-being. Young People will be able to access appropriate and meaningful out-of-school volunteering roles using peer-mentors and youth-led support groups.

Beneficiaries: Over the three years, the project will engage with 900 YP, with many helping support others as volunteer ambassadors and peer-mentors
