Jim Smith
Jim began volunteering with URPotential just before Christmas 2016, since he has started he has undertaken numerous training courses; interview skills, the reaching your potential course and customer service. Along with all his training he has took the time out to volunteer at our allotment with Louise on a weekly basis, he gets involved with planting, DIY, building plant beds, and painting the planters, Jim has been a real big help getting the allotment up to scratch and keeping on top of the maintenance that now he has also started volunteering, supporting the railway project to make the railway stop at the pleasure beach more inviting, clean and tidy.
David Smith
David started volunteering back in January, he initially began on the BBO Age of Opportunity project, since this he has blossomed into a more confident character, he has undertaken numerous training such as; interview skills, reaching your potential, customer service, and learn my way which lead on to him completing the digital champions course. Since becoming a digital champion David has gone full steam ahead with volunteering and supporting others, David now volunteers at URPotential on a Tuesday morning supporting our IT drop in session, he also heads to Church Road Methodist centre on a Wednesday morning for the IT skills drop in. David also supports Krysia on a Friday afternoon at St Peters to support the IT drop in session. David is supporting many individuals from all different communities across Blackpool and Fylde, he is gaining valuable experience. Back in June David won runner up for the adult volunteer of the year for the URPotential awards.
