Girls Group were invited to Blackpool Football Club as we have been working alongside Blackpool FC Community Trust. Mark from the Trust has been coming to our group to discuss opportunities for young women to become involved in all aspects of football. The Trust aims to use football as a tool to engage with disadvantaged young people.
There are many aspects of football that relate to employability which many of group members hadn’t considered. We were invited to tour round BFC looking at all the different areas from hospitality to sports therapy, the range of jobs available is huge. Through participating in the tour and working with Mark, young people will gain experiences and skills that are transferable to the job market.
We are excited to continue working with the Trust in the coming months which will give the group members opportunities to develop and volunteer.
