My name is Amanda in 2013 I started volunteering within my community of Grange Park where I was a participant on the Blackpool Alcohol inquiry which was led by Our life for Dr Arif Rajpura the director of Public Health Blackpool. Following on from this I visited local community groups and became a volunteer at the The Cherwell Centre youth club. I then went on to do my Level 1 ABC Awards Youthwork with URPotential to gain a qualification, with no intention of taking it further. After completing my Level One I enrolled at Blackpool University centre to do a level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce. I became a volunteer at Blackpool Families in Recovery as my placement and became passionate about supporting people in recovery. I also enjoyed studying and close to the end of my Level 3 became Chairperson of Blackpool Families in Recovery. I then made the decision to enroll on to a foundation degree in Family Support and Wellbeing. I also volunteered for a short period of time for Jobs,Friends and Houses and then secured paid employment within a month. I finally completed my foundation degree in July 2017 and made the decision once again to further my education and applied for my BA Honours in Family Support and Wellbeing. I have now started as a Transformational Coach with URPotential supporting people to overcome barriers they may be faced with, to enable them to eventually gain employment or volunteering. I have experience of supporting people from all backgrounds which will enable me to support people to reach their full potential.
