Blackpool Youth Council
They ensure that every young person, aged 11 to 18, no matter their ethnic or social background can have their voice heard; allowing young people to have the opportunity to have their say and make informed decisions on key issues affecting them.
Their partners include Youthforia Northwest, the UK Youth Parliament and the British Youth Council where issues are looked at a national, regional and a local level. All of this is aimed to actively get involved in the community, making a difference on a local level and promoting democratic values.

National Citizen Service (NCS) a government backed programme aimed at 16 and 17 year olds. It is a three-week programme taking place in the summer holidays focused around fun and discovery, plus 30 hours volunteering on a community project.
We only take small groups away, which is ideal for the more personal touch and can make the experience more enjoyable for some young people.
On the course participants build skills for work and life, while taking on new challenges and adventures, making new friends, and contributing to their community. Not only do 16 and 17 year olds have the chance to give something back, but it looks great on CVs and UCAS recommends referencing NCS on personal statements.
