UR Potential is a Community Interest Company. We are a not for profit organisation. Our values are based on community cohesion and the development of communities who take the lead. We believe in supporting individuals to fulfill their potential and reach their dreams. We understand that for some people within our communities it is difficult to make that step into either volunteering, employment or further education. We will provide support through establishing peer mentors, befriending groups and training to ensure that step is a pleasant and rewarding experience. UR Potential can provide training to build capacity within communities and organisations as well as up skill individuals to feel ready to take on new roles as a volunteer or to venture into further education or paid employment. UR Potential offers a varied collection of training and accredited courses to suit individuals, community groups and organisations.
UR Potential also provide supported youth volunteering through our Fylde Coast Be Involved Youth Volunteering project officially launched September 2011. We provide peer supported volunteering for young people aged 14 to 25 years of age as well as brokered volunteering for young people who do not require additional support. CHECK OUT OUR FYLDE COAST BE INVOLVED PAGE or contact linda.markey@urpotential.co.uk.
UR Potential and FCBI now support Blackpool Volunteer Youth Forum(BVYF). BVYF has been set up for young people aged 11-19 and up to 26 with additional needs who are part of voluntary organisations like yourselves, to discuss issues that affect them in their organisation and as young people. They aim to involve as many voluntary organisations so that the forum can be diverse and have a wide knowledge base to be truly representative of the sector. For your organisation, BVYF will give your members the opportunity to work with young people from other groups in order to address common issues affecting the voluntary youth sector, allow young people to share information about their organisations, create opportunities for working together led by young people and provide a united voice in seeking to improve services and resources.
UR Potential also provide support in setting up youth and community groups as well as developing our own own youth groups within Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. Check out our Drama Queens section for examples of what we do alongside young people.
